"solo with pen and paper and camera" - Overtoom 301, Amsterdam, February 2006

“solo with only pen and paper” and “solo with pen and paper and camera” are movement and text performances that deal with the concept of loneliness trough a fresh and humoristic point of view, understanding the seduction of the audience as the only way to escape from it.

“solo with pen and paper”:

I look at two people of the audience during one minute and the experience I have when I look at them, I write it down on a paper. In between looking and writing, I’m playing with metaphors in words and movement around the issue of solitude. At the end I invite the two people I had looked at during one minute to come onstage and stand there while I read the texts I wrote about them.

“solo with pen and paper and camera”:

Two people of the audience are recorded separately during one minute, and the experience I have when I record them, I write it down on a paper. In between recording and writing, I’m playing with metaphors in words and movement around the issue of solitude till I end up projecting a video that I’ve recorded before the audience comes in, to do a duet with myself,. At the end of the performance I project the videos of the two people I recorded and I read what I wrote about them.
